Canadian with Type 1 Diabetes will qualify for Disability Tax Credit
It has been announced that the approximately 300,000 Canadians living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) can now automatically qualify for the federal disability tax credit. The disability tax credit (DTC) is a non-refundable tax credit that helps people with disabilities or their support people/family members reduce the amount of income tax they may have to pay. This will undoubtedly ease the financial burden caused by unavoidable and necessary life-saving expenses faced by everyone with T1D.
